Last Night
2022 – present
In the fall of 2022, I began capturing strangers that I encountered in the streets, bars, and subways of major cities known for their nightlife. Focusing on women and youth, I started photographing in New York and continued in Düsseldorf, Berlin, Miami, Bogota, and Medellín for one year.
I found myself intrigued by how globalized our nightlife rituals have become. Shimmering jewelry, bold tattoos, intimacy, and gritty street scenes – at first glance, the photographs seem to be from the same place, but they are from entirely different neighborhoods, cities, and countries.
The work was exhibited at Rencontres d’Arles, Leica Gallery Munich, and the International Center of Photography. It was awarded first place by the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) and semifinalist at the Urban Photo Awards.
